Three of the stars of FXX’s hit sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia have collaborated to create Four Walls Whiskey – a collection which captures the spirit of Paddy’s Pub.
Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day (who play Dennis, Mac and Charlie respectively) developed the whiskey as a means of supporting the hospitality industry in the city where the show is set.
McElhenney says: “We were shooting Season 15 [of It’s Always Sunny] when bars were shutting down all across America. So, we decided to source some really great whiskeys and create something as a tribute to the bar and kick it off by giving back”.
Speaking with Esquire, Howerton, channeling the Golden God, said: “Whiskey was always something I had in the back of my mind simply because, first and foremost, I’m a massive whiskey fan. I’ve been appreciating finer whiskeys for as many years as I could afford it.”
Though fans may be disappointed that it isn’t a spin on Fight Milk or rum ham, the collection still pays homage to the show, (but these drinks are actually safe for human consumption.)
There are just 755 bottles of the Cask Strength Single Barrel Collector’s Edition. The Irish whiskey was made in pot stills and matured in ex-bourbon barrels for 15+ years, which signifies the record-breaking number of seasons the show has aired for. Retailing for US$999.95, it is certainly a somewhat more premium product than what the onscreen characters usually drink.

The Bartender’s Blend, at US$89.95, is, rather like the show itself, an American-Irish melange, combining malt Irish whiskeys with Pennsylvania Straight Rye Whiskey. Only a few hundred cases will be released now, with some being held back for fan events.
The collection can be found here. All proceeds will be donated to the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association’s Hospitality Assistance Response of Pennsylvania.
